It's May 2008 at the Walgreens construction site on Route 11 in Dublin, VA. We're watching for a retaining wall to be constructed which will level the ground at the height of Rte. 11. That will be a major sign of progression here.

Directly across the street (Giles Ave. at Route 11) is a construction site for a future Walgreens Pharmacy in Dublin, Virginia. The demolition occured in the fall & winter of 2007. The idea is to capture the building process over the spring/summer/fall of 2008. The first picture i'm showing here is from May 2, 2008.March 2008 is archived: Click Here. I'll add a new picture here, approximately 2X each week, until completion. The most recent picture is at the top. If you haven't been here before, start at the bottom of the page and work your way up to the top. Use the 'End" key for the fastest method. They are getting a level surface over there. The office is raised as you can see here, and rumor is it will be moved soon. 05-30-08

Here, they are flushing out the hydrant. The hydrant on our side of Giles will be disconnected. I think. 05-30-08

They've been working on the wall. That's our van down there. 05-24-08

I wasn't here much this week, they built the retaining wall. More on this next week. Here's what it looks like. 05-17-08 Saturday Morning

It rained here last night, no real action today. 05-09-08

5/7/8 New developments include... No longer are they leveling the property w/ Rte 11. The retaining wall is going to be lower. You may notice the office is now on a hill in the picture at the bottom of this page. The Parking Lot Sign is being moved from it's original location to maintain a good view for school buses, etc. It makes a difference for our store sign, too.
